Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy

The addicts of the first three Crash Bandicoot series can appreciate Vicarious Visions creation of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. I say addicts because when the game first hit in the 90s, it took most of its popularity from formidable games like Mario and Sonic. Gamers used to find themselves engaged in the game after dinner only to realize it was morning as the dawn light shimmered through the blinds. The popularity of the series is attributed to charmed platformers that resonated with the expressive characters and its diverse environments. The N Sane Trilogy is a chance to go back and revisit the first three Crash games in style because it looks and sounds better even though it is a direct replica of the three.

Features in N. Sane Trilogy

Being a representation of previous versions, N. Sane Trilogy collection had to feature remastered versions of Crash Bandicoot like Cortex Strikes Back in Crash 2 and Warped in the first Crash. The characters in N. Sane are a reward from the sacrifice of the basic character models in previous versions. Trilogy characters are more defined with a measure of realism that has doubled up in the environment of the game. The clearer crisp 3D images resemble the better rendering of cartoon characters just like those developed by Pixar and DreamWorks.Easier control of Crash has been achieved by the use of the analogue stick. It gives a well-rounded motion range than compared to using the arrow buttons meant for up, down, left and right motions.

Is the Gameplay Reminiscent of the Old Days?

I can say that while playing the game it is easy to appreciate the care that has gone into presenting the game, however, playing it stirs conflicting emotions. N. Sane remains dated despite their fresh approach to the game. I think this can be attributed to the time it has taken for Vicarious Visions to release the trilogy. By the time the third Crash was out, we were still popular to the 3-D idea then given time, 3D is no longer popular.

Adversaries don’t react to you and prefer to follow a predetermined path as well as animated loops. You also find yourself facing many obstacles and one-hit deaths that can come out discouraging as it makes the game difficult. All you want to do is sit back and enjoy the game.

However, not all levels are difficult to handle. Some are smooth sailing to efficiently take you to the next level. I think the difficult levels are there to offer some challenges as smooth sailing can sometimes be boring.

Why Purchase It?

It is a good way to take a trip down memory lane for the older generation as they would best understand the experience, they get from it. However, for the younger generation, it could turn out as somewhat outdated game given the standards of games they play today.
